Nurses know and embrace the "Five Rights to Medication Administration": the right medication, right dose, right time, right route, and right patient. For many years, this mantra has helped nurses keep patient safety top of mind and reduce medication errors. For therapy to be successful, we know it must be administered correctly and safely. But what happens when the patient leaves the doctor's office or hospital? Medication non-adherence has become a $300 billion problem, causing an estimated 125,000 deaths annually.
